Female biographemes are inscribed on the yellowed pages of four copies of the cookbook Quitutes da D. ª Carolina Porciúncula: arte culinária, by Carolina Marcondes Porciúncula. Cooking recipes are exchanged between women and, therefore, female first names accompany the titles, demonstrating how this knowledge is engendered in the community. The return to the kitchen made by contemporary writers allows us to rethink and review cookbooks as a space not only for flavor, but also for knowledge and creation. The subjective choices in the writing or sharing a recipe make these women accomplished cooks, as well as woman with their hands full of writing.
