The article analyzes the re-signification of the Tupinambá Cloak in contemporary Indigenous art, emphasizing its cultural and historical significance. Based on the work of Glicéria Tupinambá, it discusses the recovery of ancestral knowledge and the creation of new cloaks as symbols of the struggle for land demarcation and cultural preservation. It examines the trajectory of the piece, from its colonial appropriation to its return to Brazil, highlighting its social and spiritual implications. Contemporary Indigenous art emerges as political resistance, challenging hegemonic narratives. Furthermore, the connection between art, environmental preservation, and territorial struggle is emphasized, reinforcing the need for reparations and the recognition of Indigenous peoples' rights in contemporary Brazil.
