The interpreter Elba Ramalho built her career associated with the cultural signs of the Northeast. Active in the music market since 1979, she is conventionally associated with June festivities, but has not allowed itself to be limited by conventions. Interested in destabilization, she has been considered the “great sensation” of the first edition of Rock in Rio in 1985. This text aims to analyze the presence of the performer at the rock festival in 1985, in which she would participate four more times, and the meanings of this fact for an artist conventionally associated with the June festivals of the Northeast. For these purposes, we use hemerographic, audiovisual sources and referential bibliographies of History and related areas.
