Abstract

Activist Rosely Roth was a pioneering figure in the history of the Brazilian lesbian movement, especially during the military dictatorship, when the country was plagued by censorship, violence and deprivation of rights. In this sense, the aim is to recover Rosely Roth's legacy for the lesbian-feminist movement in Brazil, reflecting on her importance through records such as the ChanacomChana newsletter (1982-1987), from the perspective of academic studies and texts of other kinds that have portrayed issues of gender, sexuality, memory and lesbian and LGBTQIAP+ experiences at national level and through audiovisual materials. In this way, it was concluded that the research made it possible not only to highlight the life, voice and actions of a woman who contributed to lesbian visibility, but also aimed to provide debates about the political participation of women on the Brazilian scene.
