Edson Soares Diniz (1934 - 2012) was an indigenous ethnologist amazonian, which was held at the Emílio Goeldi Paraense Museum (MPEG),, studying indigenous groups along the line of ethnic friction, contributing to studies at Brazilian and Amazonian anthropology. Throughout his personal trajectory, produced “memories of himself” recorded and evidenced in his personal archive, which this article presents the biographical aspects of his life and work. Documents connect his individual trajectory to collective memory, including records of institutions where he worked and/or studied, his dialog with fellow ethnologists, and materials related to his research objects. It is evident that by “archiving” his life, he produced not only records of himself but also memories of anthropological science in the Brazilian Amazon.Downloads
