Abstract

The article discusses the new methodological paths outlined in the field of Press History due to the contributions raised by feminist epistemologies. From an expansion of sources and in order to interpret the social change of the period proposed here, nineteenth century, we seek a resignification about what we call the evolution of the profession of journalist for women in Brazil. For this, in addition to journals produced by them, we use commercial documents, public instruction, daily press and personal letters. The intention is to give an analytical density about the History we want to tell, identified here from a gender inequality structured and that requires a more detailed analysis of the social specificities that led to the production of newspapers and female access in the press.
