“MEIO AMBIENTE” É UM TEMA TRANSVERSAL NOS DOCUMENTOS CURRICULARES NACIONAIS DO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL? = IS “ENVIRONMENT” A CROSS-CUTTING THEME IN NATIONAL CURRICULUM DOCUMENTS FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS?

Resumo

O presente artigo relata uma pesquisa que analisou o conteúdo dos documentos das Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais para o Ensino Fundamental (1998) e dos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais do Ensino Fundamental de 5ª a 8ª séries (1998), investigando em que medida e extensão a temática ambiental está presente nesses documentos (em 2010), o quanto esta temática é um tema transversal do currículo escolar e quais as abordagens dadas a essa temática nesses documentos (2011). A análise global demonstrou que a abordagem da temática ambiental está praticamente restrita ao Caderno dos Temas Transversais, mais especificamente ao Caderno dos Temas Transversais Meio Ambiente, e encontra-se de maneira difusa nos Cadernos de Geografia, Ciências Naturais e Artes, e praticamente ausente nos demais. Em algumas situações percebe-se claramente uma contradição entre o que está no discurso pedagógico sobre a transversalidade da temática ambiental e o encaminhamento pedagógico dado no conjunto desses documentos curriculares.

ABSTRACT

This paper reports a research that analyzed the content of the documents of the National Curriculum Guidelines for Primary Schools (1998) and the National Curriculum Parameters for Primary School, from 5th to 8th grades (1998), investigating in which extension the environmental thematic is present in these documents (in 2010); if environment is a real cross-cutting theme of the school curriculum and what are the approaches to this subject in these documents (in 2011). The analysis showed that the approach to environmental issues is practically restricted to the Textbook of Cross-cutting Themes, specifically the Textbook of the Cross-cutting Theme Environment. This thematic is partially found in the Textbooks of Geography, Natural Sciences and Arts, and virtually absent in others. In some situations, it is clear the contradiction between what is in the pedagogical discourse about having environment as a cross-cutting theme and teaching instructions given in all these documents.
