LAW AND SOCIAL SERVICE: FAMILIES IN TRANSFORMATION

Abstract

 This article aims to contribute to a multidisciplinary reflection on families in contemporary times through a brief analysis of their socio-historical transformations and also within the scope of Brazilian law. Therefore, we will use an interdisciplinary analysis between Law and Social Work that will approach a Marxist conception capable of expressing the commitment to the theme in a perspective of totality, by the Dialectical Historical Materialism Method. It is necessary to understand that, in terms of organization, families were the first form of human community and, from the beginning until today, are extremely important for the construction of social beings. Families evolve gradually from the earliest times to the present day and with the societal transformations arising from capitalism, it is possible to perceive significant impacts on family relationships. It is important that law and social work work together to understand and seek mechanisms that will ensure all their rights.
