Abstract

The aim of this article is to elucidate the debate on the production of knowledge on ethnic-racial relations in postgraduate studies in Social Work, expressed in dissertations and theses from 2013-2022. To do this, we mobilized the debate based on exploratory qualitative research, using bibliographic and documentary sources. We present a brief discussion in order to situate the Brazilian Social Service as a profession and area of knowledge and we advance in some mediations around the agenda of ethnic-racial relations as an object of research. As a summary, we conclude that although it is still in its infancy in relation to the totality of productions in the area, the present time sums up central inflections within the profession and in the production of knowledge on the subject, but still incurs major investigative challenges, such as the theoretical-methodological trends that have informed such productions.
