Abstract

Identity is part of social relationships and is shaped by society. Throughout history, not all of them have been preserved; many were distorted or erased, wiping out cultures. Capitalism, with its greedy politics, imposed a regulatory way of life, creating identities according to its interests and destroying traditions. However, identity is dynamic and is reconstructed through internal and external elements, its social, dynamic individuals, collectively forming a diverse society. This work is a theoretical essay on sociocultural formation, in the construction of an identity in modern capitalism, for this we carried out a bibliographical study on the subject, using as references the main historical authors on the subject: Bauman, Stuart Hall, Marx and Engels and in contemporary Wilson Honório, Muniz and Quijano.
