Abstract

This article deals with the partial result of the master's dissertation, whose research aimed to evaluate the professional performance of the host institutions of the medium-sized city, Uberaba (MG) in the realization of the right to family life, here understood as working with families . A bibliographic and documentary research was performed referring to the theoretical references related to the object of study. To deepen the research object, the dialectical method was used, and as a theoretical basis, the historical-dialectical materialism, with a qualitative approach. To achieve the proposed objective, a field research was carried out in three of the five host institutions in the city of Uberaba (MG). Five professionals participated, being two social workers and three psychologists. The initial intention was to interview a social worker and a psychologist from each institution, i.e. six subjects. However, a professional did not demonstrate availability during the data collection period. Interviews were conducted with a guiding script of semi-structured questions. These statements were recorded, transcribed, read and analyzed. The research results show that the work with families carried out by the host institutions cannot guarantee the right to family life.
